What’s for Dinner… Lipstick?

The New York Times recently reported that the average lipstick wearing woman will ingest 5-7 pounds of lipstick product over the span of their lifetime.  5-7 pounds!  Lipsticks from none environmentally conscious companies contain ingredients like paraffin wax & alcohol, not to mention cheap fats which may or may not be extracted from cow brains (depends on the brand, but still…ewww).  The point is, if you’re going to be ingesting 5-7 pounds of anything shouldn’t it be as healthy as possible?

Geno Chapman

Aveda Academy Instructor, Geno Chapman, arrived from LA last weekend to teach our Master Artisans a lesson or two in new innovative cutting!  This two day class focused primarily on using “cutting” edge techniques to create classic but up to date looks, meeting the challenge of this season’s hottest trends.  Here’s what our designer’s had to say:

Richmond Magazine Makeover

Bobbi Heaney, Mystery Makeover Guest, Diana Seaman form Radiant Style Made Simple

Mango Salon joined Richmond magazine for their “Makeover” article!  The makeover segment centered on hair & makeup for women in the metro area in need of a beauty refreshment.  Mango’s owner, Bobbi Heaney, gave the auspicious contestant (who shall remain nameless until the article is published – we can’t spill the beans) a new do & fresh spring color.  Makeup guru, Sheryl Mistretta, revitalized our mystery woman’s look with the new Aveda Eye Trios .  The after pictures speak for themselves…but you’ll have to hold out until May to see them.  The magazine hits stands after the 1^st…keep your eyes peeled!
