Continuation- Easy Summer Do
Wednesday, August 4, 2010
Dirty It Up! Remember the feeling of your hair after a dip in the waves. The wind blowing your hair around, the thick dirty texture of hair covered in sand & salt. The perfect waves & volume that come from beach hair. Do that on purpose with dry shampoos & Aveda’s Hair Potion. Then wear it down or pull it back. That little bit of dirt will help you easily replicate that relaxed wavy hair from the beach
-
- Curling Iron – but not too much. Focus on curling a few large pieces around the face & the very ends. Then part your hair on the side to expose the curled pieces on the front & pull your hair back loosely so the curled ends are exposed. You can use a hair tie or three to four bobby pins for this. The quick upswept do looks polished but doesn’t take too much of your time.

Two summer do’s that take less than 5 minutes
Tuesday, July 27, 2010
.jpg)
You’re coming off the beach & you don’t feel like spending lots of time on your hair (or you’re stepping out into that 100 degree temperature & who wants to mess with high maintenance tresses in that heat). Don’t fret - you can still head out with style. Just try these easy summer do’s – no heat, no sweat, high style.
-Messy Braided Chignon: Take a brush and tease some hair at the crown (using a brush will keep it more messy & less packed but still give your hair some volume). Pull a third of your hair aside & braid it from the nape of your neck down. Add the remainder of your hair to the braided portion and wrap it up with a hair tie in a messy knot. The pieces of the braid that show will help hide the hair tie & give what would be an ordinary knot some interest.
Be Like Sally & Have it “On The Side”: When Harry Met Sally he commented, “On the Side is a very big thing for you…” What a double entendre! Wearing your hair on the side ups the interest level but not the work. Side Braid. Side Ponytail. They’re both easy summer looks. The key to this season’s look is wearing it low. So pull your hair to the side and start your braid at the nape of your neck & for ponytails secure the tie on the shoulder or below.

Lilacs & Lavenders are this season’s hottest nail colors & here’s why: It’s trendy & fun & isn’t so crazy it follows the Looney wagon home. Its neutral quality makes it new & fresh, yet respectable. And this season OPI has teamed up with everyone’s favorite Green Giant franchise & introduced a line of colors named for Shrek.
The hottest hue on record: Rumple’s Wiggin’. Mango has it…do you?

Inside Look!
Thursday, July 1, 2010
Mango Salon had their Summer Social last weekend. Appropriately, the theme was Clambake & man did we bake! The temperature read 102 but true to Mango spirit, we celebrated anyway! There’s never a shortage of food where Mango is concerned & to keep cool we played games with water balloons & Super Soakers. We sent the troops out to scour the park with a Mango scavenger hunt & set up a Bean Bag Toss to test our coordination & our heat stamina. The evening wrapped at a steamy 98 degrees with a group of happy, hot & sticky Mango-ites. A special thanks to everyone who helped with planning! Looking forward to the Fall Social!

Clarification is Important
Thursday, June 24, 2010
Communication is key & your summer hair is screaming for clarification. Summertime swimming? Great for you – rough on your hair. Women & girls alike, those hours in the pool let chlorine seep into the porous grooves in your hair & leave it dry, fried & chlorine-ified.

Quick fix: Use a clarifying shampoo like Aveda’s Suncare Shampoo or Hair Detoxifier after every trip to the pool &/or once a week for less frequent pool dwellers. And keep Baking Soda on hand – a little dose added to your shampoo will cleanse discolorization. Now there’s no excuse for green hair!
