Mango Story
Mango opened on September 18, 2003, the same day Hurricane Isabel swept through Richmond. While we believe that Mango took Richmond by storm that day, we were determined to stay open. Isabel closed our business for five business days but failed to dampen our spirit. We opened in the parking lot two days after the storm for a charity Cut-a-Thon and donated all proceeds to the American Red Cross.
Our Name
We chose "Mango" because it means fresh. We wanted "Mango" to be a fresh concept in hair salons. For our team members it means a fresh start in their careers. To Bobbi and Pat it means a fresh start later in life.
